Findagrave.com Memorials

This address is to William's Memorial.

These are memorials for some of our family members. This work is still in progress! There is a lot of information to be found here! In the Family links: section you can navigate to a family members memorial by clicking on the persons name.

The name that I use on findagrave is CuriousQuests. If you would like a memorial added I will do that for you or you can join findagrave and enter it yourself.

Check out this site!!!

Tree Information

Hello again Michael this is the basic information that I have for you. As you can see I'm missing a lot of data. Please let me know if you see incorrect information in the chart. I would like to get updated information to fill in the blanks. Anything you could share would be great!

Comments

For you folks who've never blogged before, be sure to note the little brown note that says "comments" at the end of the posts; click on this to read what someone's commented on the post (again, apologies if I'm bein' too elementary).

Rusty, sounds like you have an interesting and rewarding job! We have a lot in common--"Ronin," "Patton," the Doors. My mother's mother was a waitress at her brother-in-law's cafe in the Mohave desert when Patton was training his troops there for North Africa. The first time he went there with his entourage he refused to pay the tax on his bill, saying that he was part of the federal government and shouldn't have to pay any tax. Of course he was tall and impressive, and my grandmother was about 4'10", (but cute!) and she got all up in his face and told him that as an American it was his duty to pay the tax, etc., etc., and if he didn't she'd pay it on her tiny salary, and he smiled and paid the tax, and every time he stopped in since then (it was the only cafe on the highway for 100 miles) he always asked for her and talked to her. They had quite a little flirtation going.

Kate - I now know how I know you and who you are! You are 'Kathleen'! We had a picnic at Shute Park in Hillsboro many, many years ago. I think you guys were on your way to the Philipines, or had just gotten back. I can't remember that part of it. We played tag aound bushes and rocks there at that park in Hillsboro. I remember it as being "summer-ish". It was a nice day anyway. That was a long, long time ago. : )
Hi Michael, I'm glad to see you on the blog. Now you are more than just a name in my family tree, great!

Hi Rusty, are you Shirley's grandson? I'm trying to connect you to the proper place in my tree.

Hi Nina, glad you could join us. This may be confusing until we all get to know each other.

Hi Phyllis, I'm sure you are following all these connections in your tree.

Lee, I hope you get to feeling better soon. I need to get busy and contact more people about our blog. This is going to be a great place to exchange information and get acquainted with our family.

Kate, keep up the great job that you are doing. I couldn't be happier! Maybe over time we will be able to break down the brick wall and discover William's ancestry.
Hi Kate. My name is Michael Baugh. I'm the son of Billy Baugh, who was the son of Eddie Baugh. My grandmother was Esther Baugh (originally Green). Her parents were my great-grandmother and great-grandfather Green. I remember both of them, and occasionally still visit their graves in Hillsboro, OR. I got your name from my 2nd cousin, Leola, (Lee). My great-aunt is Ida Kennenburg. I just wanted to get in touch with you, to get to know the rest of my family.

Welcome Rusty!

Hi Rusty - glad you made it to the blog! I have been trying to update my profile and the dang thing hung up and lost everything.....I'll try again later.

Thanks Kate for getting this going!

Thanks John for starting the ball rolling! By the way, the "family tree" will enlarge for me by double-clicking on it. I don't know if everyone's computer will work that way or not. Be nice to see some other family trees over time if you have them.

I'm still recovering from nasty case of winter crud no. 2, which came fast on the heels of no. 1, to which it seems to be closely related (so maybe it's no. 1 part 2...from which thinking you can see what a muddled state my mind is in right now. I promise to be congent soon.)

Lee-
Folks,

Great family tree, John! I've invited 9 of our relatives via emails given me by Lee; she's feeling better. She had a great suggestion, that we look into the possibility of photo albums. Turns out that the Google set up includes the ability to post albums with Picasa software. It's free and can be downloaded from http://picasa.google.com/

I think all the instructions are there; if you have any trouble just let me know and we'll figure it out.

Lee asked whether spouses could join. I would vote yes. Whaddya say?

Kate

This tree chart shows my grandson's linage back to William Green. It also is good reference for visitors if they are not sure which William Green Family this blog is about. If you descend from any of William's children in this chart then you are at the correct blog. Welcome to our family blog !!!!! If you have trouble viewing this image you can right click on it and select Save Picture As to save it to your computer, then enlarge it.

John Raymond Green Family

Introducing my family. I hope we can get a lot of Green Descendants posting to this site. Pictures will be a great plus!
It worked! Since this photo looks okay and it's only 42KB (42,000 bytes) and the limit is 8M (8,000,000 bytes) I think we're good in the photo loading department. Folks, when you are posting to this blog you will see a little tiny photo up to the right of where you are typing stuff in. It's just to the right of the little check icon with the "ABC" above it. The little photo is what you click to add a photo. Sorry if I'm being elementary here but I don't know what kind of experience y'all got.

We can even add videos by clicking on the tiny film piece to the right of the tiny photo. And you can put links to web pages in by clicking on the little green disk (globe?) with the tiny chain on it which is more to the left.

Photo Experiment

This is my husband, Thomas Foote Van Sant, Jr. We just call him Foote (foot-y). We can load photos up to 8M. This is about 42KB in size, only 72 psi and 2" wide. Will see how this works.

Test Post

Thanks Kate!

I'm new to this so this is basically a test post. In fact this is my second try.
I did invite Phyllis as an Author. I hope that worked. I think it did.

Welcome!

I think this is actually working. John, I went in and signed you up as an administrator. When you're on the blog page if you want to add someone to the blog, click "Customize," in the upper right corner, then click "Settings" in the upper left corner, then click "Permissions" and it gives you a box to type in the email of whomever you want to add.

Or just tell me to do it. :-D
